A degree earned in Turkey or Azerbaijan is not automatically recognised in Albania. To use your qualification for employment in a regulated profession, apply to a university programme, or have your credentials officially verified, you must complete a diploma equivalency process. We make that process straightforward.
Albania requires foreign-educated professionals in regulated fields — medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, law, engineering, architecture, and teaching among others — to have their qualifications officially recognised before they can practise. Even in non-regulated sectors, many Albanian employers and institutions want to see an equivalency certificate as part of the hiring process.
If you are applying to a postgraduate programme at an Albanian university, you will also need your undergraduate degree to be recognised first.
Academic degree recognition in Albania is handled by the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth (MASR) through its dedicated department for the recognition of foreign qualifications. Applications are submitted either in person at the ministry office in Tirana or through the e-Albania portal.
Professional recognition (the right to practise) is separate and handled by the relevant professional body or line ministry — for example, the Order of Physicians for medical qualifications or the Chamber of Architects and Engineers for technical qualifications. MASR recognition is typically a prerequisite for the professional body application.
Documents issued in Turkey must carry the Turkish apostille (from the provincial governor's office or relevant ministry). Documents issued in Azerbaijan must carry the Azerbaijani apostille. Translations must be performed by a certified translator and, in most cases, notarised in Albania.
MASR typically issues a decision within 3 to 5 months of receiving a complete application. The most common cause of delay is incomplete or incorrectly apostilled documents. Having a properly prepared application reduces the risk of rejection or requests for additional information.
We assess your specific qualification against Albanian recognition requirements, prepare the full document package (including coordinating apostilles and certified translations), submit the application on your behalf, and follow up with MASR throughout the evaluation. We communicate in Turkish and English and keep you informed at every stage.
